- For women of childbearing potential and pregnant women to protect against neural tube defects in their offspring.
- Prevention and treatment of folate deficiency states such as megaloblastic anemia, chronic hemolytic anemia, gastrointestinal inflammation, malabsorption, alcoholism, conditions associated with impaired homocysteine metabolism, and methotrexate toxicity.
- Administer with or without food.
- Orally, 5mg daily for 4 months as maintenance; 5mg every 1-7 days depending on underlying disease; or as prescribed by a physician.
